Mix Country 106 is proud of where we came from playing some of the greatest country music on the planet. Now, we are even more excited to be playing what could arguably be the best of the best country styling straight out of Texas. We are spreading this greatness to our local community starting in Iowa where we're based out of, and hope to share this awesome format with an even larger global audience.
Mix Country 106 originally was founded in 2009. Back then, a young John Lofton straight out of studying broadcasting wanted to build a platform to share all the greatest country music from the 80's, 90's & 00's. This was a great success attracting listeners in 100 different countries with a hit show "Honky-Tonk Saturdays" being simulcasted across multiple online stations reaching an even larger audience. Mix Country 106 did take a long break for a lot of reasons that don't mean too much now, because we're back and anticipate launching our brand new version of Mix Country 106 in early 2022.
